Lisa Margo Guertin, M.S.N., APRN, PMHNP-BC began her nursing career 35 years ago when she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at Broward Community College. She worked in a hospital for several years dealing mainly with patient’s with medical issues. At 23 she became a supervisor with eating disorders patients. It was there that she began her passion for psychiatry and psychotherapy. Lisa subsequently became a Legal Nurse Consultant and opened Professional Review Services, whereby she began working with some of the most prestigious law firms in South Florida. However, her passion for psychiatry never ended and in 2005 Lisa went back to school and received her BSN at Nova Southeastern University where she graduated with highest honors. After that she went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Nursing at Florida International University and specialized in the field of Psychiatry. She is currently Board Certified in Psychiatry. Lisa was the Chief of Psychiatric Services in a maximum security women’s prison in South Florida where she treated patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and psychosis. In addition, Lisa is the mother of two daughters, Haley, age 25 and Riley, age 22.
